Caroline, the post-apocalyptic queen, the undefeated legend, the savior of the world prophesied by the seer! Yet, she was betrayed by her companions and was reborn in the body of the timid and cowardly Lila. She fought against her stepmother and stepsister, focused on her studies, and built her business empire, which made her famous all over the world! However, she didn't know that she had already caught the eye of Adrian, the most powerful billionaire. Rumors started spreading out of nowhere, claiming that she was Adrian's woman. One day, she went to confront him to clarify the rumors, but he pulled her into his arms, smiling devilishly. "Good girl, we already have a child, stop making a fuss." She punched him, teaching him a lesson. "Where is this child from? Come with me to clear things up—I have nothing to do with you!"
Twenty-five years into the post-apocalypse, in the Caspian Basin.
Caroline Taylor, a woman in armor, lay on the ground, her body marred by gruesome wounds from zombie bites. Despite her delicate appearance, she showed no signs of backing down. Her striking Eastern features were pale, but her eyes blazed with bloodlust and icy determination. She turned towards Andrew Scott, who stood just outside the circle, and accused, "Andrew, you're a traitor to all of mankind!"
Up until recently, everyone believed that the cause of the apocalypse—the zombie virus—was Earth's way of clearing out humanity. It was only now that Caroline had uncovered the truth: it was all a scheme by the interstellar pioneers! And Andrew—he had been secretly aiding these aliens all along.
Hearing her accusation, Andrew instantly teleported to her side. He gazed down at Caroline who was powerless , then burst into maniacal laughter.
"Ha ha ha... So what if I’ve betrayed all of humanity? The interstellar pioneers promised me that as long as I annihilate all humans, Earth would be mine to rule! I’ll call the shots, do whatever I want!"
"How does it feel, Commander, being gnawed on by zombies?" Andrew sneered as he glanced at Caroline, her body soaked in blood. "If you tell me where you’ve hidden the 290,000 people you saved, I might consider sparing you. You wouldn’t have to become zombie food."
His words dripped with schadenfreude, a regretful smirk crossing his face.
Caroline’s face paled even further, but her resolve remained unshaken. "Dream on! You’ll never find them."
Andrew shook his head. "What’s the point of protecting them? I’ll kill them all eventually. And when I do, humanity will be wiped out!"
He grinned. “Oh, I almost forgot—the water you drank earlier? I added a special ingredient. It sealed your healing powers. You’ll turn into a zombie within ten minutes. The thought of the undefeated queen becoming a zombie—now that’s something unimaginable, isn’t it? Ha ha ha…”
His tone was filled with sadistic anticipation.
Caroline could already feel the virus spreading through her body. Her limbs were stiffening, her sense of smell sharpening. The scent of human blood threatened to drive her mad. But with sheer willpower, she resisted the transformation.
In this post-apocalyptic world, many had awakened supernatural abilities. And Caroline was known worldwide as the only person with healing powers. But now, she couldn't even save herself.
"Andrew, do you know why you’ve always been a step behind me?" Caroline’s lips curled into a mocking sneer. "Because you’re selfish. You take on more than you can handle..."
Before she could finish, Andrew gripped her chin, his eyes blazing with hatred. "Shut up! It’s all because of you! If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have become like this!"
Caroline—She had been born on the very day the apocalypse began.
The most authoritative prophet had foretold that she was the one destined to save the world. From a young age, high hopes had been pinned on her. She became the center of the world’s attention, loved and admired by billions. By the age of twenty, she had been appointed president of the Northern Hemisphere.
In just five years, she had traveled the globe, saving hundreds of thousands from the clutches of zombies. Her life had been a path of unbroken glory.
Andrew, by contrast, had climbed to the position of commander-in-chief of the Northern Hemisphere through his own efforts. Although their ranks were officially equal, he had always been one step behind her—and he couldn’t stand it.
He could never stand it.
And now, at last, she was going to die at his hands.
